Privacy policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect through briefind.com and the Briefind early access program, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to write it the way we’d want to read it: plainly, and only claiming what is true.
Who we are
Briefind is operated by Pau González, Barcelona, Spain (“Briefind”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything related to your data, write to contact@briefind.com.
What we collect
When you request early access
The early access form asks for three things:
- the address of your website;
- your work email;
- who produces your content (an in-house team, an agency, freelancers, or no one in particular).
Along with them we record how you reached us: campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the external page that referred you, the page where you arrived, the country your connection comes from, and the time of your request. We do not store your IP address. To limit abuse of the form we keep a one-way hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the address.
When we analyse your website
To prepare your analysis we read the pages of the website you gave us that are publicly available without logging in: their addresses, content, metadata and structure. This is mostly information about your website, not about people, but public pages can include personal data such as author names or staff profiles. We use it only to produce your analysis.
When you visit this website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies or fingerprinting and doesn’t track you across other websites; we only see aggregated figures. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated traffic, which processes technical signals from your browser for that purpose only.
When you write to us
We keep the emails you send us and our replies, so we can follow the conversation.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- Preparing your analysis and sending it to you. Steps you asked us to take before any agreement (GDPR article 6.1.b).
- Emailing you about your analysis and about the early access program you asked to join. Steps you asked us to take (6.1.b) and our legitimate interest in following up your request (6.1.f).
- Understanding which channels bring visitors and which websites the product suits. Our legitimate interest in improving the product and how we reach people (6.1.f).
- Keeping the site and form secure, and preventing spam and abuse. Our legitimate interest in protecting our service (6.1.f).
- Meeting legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules. Legal obligation (6.1.c).
We won’t send you marketing unrelated to the early access program without your consent, and every email we send you lets you stop receiving them. We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that bind them to our instructions:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, the database that stores early access requests, security, spam protection, visit counts and forwarding the email sent to our addresses;
- Resend: sending us an internal notification email when a new request arrives;
- Google (Gmail): sending and receiving email.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute. If Briefind is ever merged or acquired, the data would pass to the new owner under this same policy, and we would tell you first.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised by the European Commission, such as its Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it.
How long we keep it
- Early access requests: until the early access program ends, plus twelve months, unless you become a customer or ask us to delete them sooner.
- Data read from your website and your analysis: up to twelve months after we deliver the analysis, unless you become a customer.
- Emails: as long as needed to follow the conversation, and no more than twenty-four months after the last message.
- Technical logs: kept by Cloudflare for the short periods it needs to operate and secure the service.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to send it to you or to someone else in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object at any time and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds. Write to contact@briefind.com; we reply within one month.
If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD). We’d appreciate the chance to fix it first.
Cookies
This website does not set its own cookies, and we don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The form stores where your visit came from in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, so the information isn’t lost if you look at another page before sending your request.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, and access to stored requests is limited to the people who prepare the analyses. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your data occurred, we would notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Briefind is a service for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
When the product launches, or when how we handle data changes, we will update this policy and the date at the top. If a change materially affects data we already hold about you, we will tell you by email before it applies.
